I heard something about this, but nobody ever responded to me, so I thought I ought to try starting another thread to get my answer. I'd really like to know because I'm leaving town for a few days for the California State Speech and Debate Tournament on the 28th.

I think you .. just as I (since I also ordered from my local gamestop) will need to hope we can pick it up on at least on the 28th. Our pre order key will get us in on the 27th.

Ok then.
Some places that have been involved in pre-orders may have the product SHIPPED to them on the 27th as a way to ensure they can have it on shelf on the 28th without delays.

With regards to picking it up? No. The release date is specifically on the 28th. Any store that is dealing with Anet will have to abide by the agreement.
Not to mention the CD's won't be active until the 28th anyway.

They may get it delivered on the 27th but it won't be sellable until after midnight of the 27th....or in other words...the 28th.

Yes, I'm glad I get at least one day of actual gameplay, but if it we can get it early I want to use my Collector's Edition cloth map as a blankey when I'm at the tournament.

Edit: That's what I thought, I just heard a little rumor that I wanted some kind of answer on.

the game ships to stores on the 26th, players who preordered can get in on the 27th and the game hits shelves on the 28th, some stores may open their doors at 12:01 am on the 28th tho since this is such an anticipated game

This game is awsome.... the worst part of it is that Wednesday is my busy day (lots of classes, and a late lab). It's also in the middle of the week.... so no staying up till 4 am because I still have to be at class at 8 the next day.....

But.... um.... I hate it when stores sell games early. I hope I get mine ASAP....

ok, this is easy, call in sick, if you have parental units cut class, if you cant cut class then just race home after school, the preorder people get to play at midnight on the 27th, so tecnically at 11:59 pm on the 26th 3-4k people will be waiting to log on
